Advertisement Pays with Vintage Beer Ashtrays
When an individual thinks of vintage beer, they often think of old beer bottles, cans and bottle caps. However, vintage breweriana extends way beyond the vintage beer bottles of yesteryear. Vintage beer ashtrays are also signs of the past that many people have fond memories of.
Vintage beer ashtrays are a lot more common to find than the average collector may think. Vintage beer ashtrays can be found in online auctions, as well as online stores. There are resale shops, such as thrift stores, that offer vintage beer ashtrays, too. Years ago, beer companies thrived on various avenues to advertise their product. Since beer is often served in bars and restaurants, and smoking, at that time, was legal in such establishments, the idea of a beer advertisement on an ashtray seemed to go hand and hand. Patrons that consumed the beer often smoked, and thus, the idea of beer advertisements on ashtrays began.
Beer companies created the vintage ashtrays in the thousands. There were various beer ashtrays that were created, such as Budwiser’s disposable beer ashtray, to the ceramic vintage beer ashtrays that had the beer company’s emblem painted or stamped onto the bottom of the ashtray. There were also those beer companies that took it up a step further and had their beer company logo and name etched into the glass ashtray. Such vintage beer ashtrays are now a hot breweriana item, as many collectors know. Although they are not difficult to find, they are indeed a rare find. Therefore, when a vintage beer ashtray collector locates a mint condition ashtray, they know that they have struck vintage gold.
Vintage beer ashtrays may be a thing of the past, but they are indeed here to stay. With more and more people looking towards vintage breweriana for collecting, it comes as no surprise that there would be antique beer ashtrays that collectors would want in their collections as well. There are many stories that can be told with a vintage beer ashtray – it is often just waiting for the right owner to tell the stories that it holds.
