Collecting Lighters
For over a century now, lighters have played an important role in many
people's lives. Some people collect lighters, while others use lighters
solely for the purpose of lighting things on fire. Whether it is a candle,
or to start a warm fire to sit by, lighters are of much importance in many
people's lives.
Lighters come in many shapes, colors, sizes and fashions. Lighter
enthusiasts can all agree that collecting lighters can be of great interest
and fun. Many popular locations sell lighters, such as hotels on the Las
Vegas strip. hotels sell lighters with their hotel names on them. Other
places, such as a tourist rest stop shop may sell lighters as well. Many
people look to purchase a lighter of a place that they have stayed at, or
merely the name of the state that they visited. Larger cities, such as
Houston, Atlanta, and Los Angeles will sell lighters with the city's name on
it, as this seems to be popular as well.
As previously mentioned, lighters come in many colors. There are silver
plated lighters, such as the extremely popular Zippo lighters. Other
lighters are dipped in solid gold, or engraved with a special sentiment.
Items that are collectible are often passed down in the family, as well as
family heirloom lighters. Vintage lighters that look very primitive to in
contrast to the current lighter out on the market are of great value as
well. Such lighters are often sought after as they can bring in much more
money to a seller. There are even collectors, sellers, and antique dealers
that specialize solely on lighters. This is due to the fact that many
lighter collectors are partial to lighters only, as well as the vast amount
of lighters that are currently available to the selling market. Many sellers
will also have pricing books to help them accurately price the current and
most up to date value of a lighter.
Lighters are indeed interesting and highly attainable items to collect.
Lighters seem to be in every corner store, department store, as well as
online. Collecting lighters is indeed a fun and easy hobby to start.
